Horrific Kevin Ware Leg Injury

The Louisville Cardinals routed the Duke Blue Devils to advance to the Final Four, but it came at a terrible price. Sophomore guard Kevin Ware suffered a grisly injury in the first half, breaking his leg after an awkward landing. Ware was taken to a local hospital, and after the game coach Rick Pitino confirmed that his leg is broken in two parts, with the bone sticking six inches out of the skin, and will be out for at least a year. He also added that it's the same kind of injury running back Michael Bush had back in 2006 with the football team.Ware was leaping to defend a three-point shot by Duke guard Tyler Thornton midway through the first half of the NCAA Midwest Region final in Indianapolis. When Ware planted his leg, turned and suffered what looked like a broken bone in his lower right leg, Theismann was transported back to Monday night, Nov. 18, 1985. That was when Theismann, while attempting a flea flicker pass against the New York Giants, was sacked by linebackers Lawrence Taylor and Harry Carson his right leg snapped in similar horrific fashion.Ware was taken to Methodist Hospital of Indianapolis, near Lucas Oil Stadium, and was expected to undergo surgery. Former Washington Redskins quarterback Joe Theismann, who famously sustained a broken leg during a Monday night football game against the New York Giants, tweeted: "Watching Duke/ Louisville my heart goes out to Kevin Ware."

Pit Bull Kills Baby Sea Lion

A pit bull belonging to a stepdaughter of former Arizona congresswoman Gabby Giffords broke away from its owner after knocking her down at a beach on Saturday afternoon around 1:42 p.m. PST. The woman was not able to regain control of the dog until after it had attacked a baby sea lion resting on the shore line.Witnesses tried to help the baby sea lion, but it died from its injuries. No charges will be filed in this incident because it was an “accident,” said Police Sgt. Eric Lee of the Laguna Beach Police Department.I have owned Pit Bulls. It doesn't matter how you train them, they have a high prey drive. Just like when a big cat sees something run, its prey drive takes over and it automatically takes chase. My lil brother was attacked by one of our pits for no damn reason when he was about 7yo playing in the sandbox. It ran up behind him, knocked him over and bit his shoulder and face, drawing blood. A local area family had to put their pit down because it latched onto their 6yo daughters arm and would not release until they strangled it.Pits are a breed purposefully created for dog fighting. They would not exist on this planet if it werent for the breeders trying to create an optimal fighting dog. A pool of blood from the sea lion is left on the shoreline as Kelly and the dog walk off. The sea lion, which isn't moving by that point, later died, according to The Los Angeles Times. It was removed from the area where it had beached itself, which may have been an indication that it was sick before the brutal encounter. The dog lives with Giffords' stepdaughter in Houston, according to the paper. No citations were issued because "it was legal for her to have the dog on the beach this time of year, and she did have it leashed. It was so strong that it pulled free of her when it saw the [sea lion]," Kravetz told The L.A. Times.

Chase Fieler Alley Dunk

In addition to pulling the NCAA tournament's biggest upset Friday night, Florida Gulf Coast also delivered its most jaw-dropping dunk. With second-seeded Georgetown having trimmed a 19-point deficit to seven and still two minutes remaining, Florida Gulf Coast beat the Hoyas' full-court press and threw the ball ahead to Brett Comer in the frontcourt. Comer could have played it safe and milked the clock when two defenders converged on him, but instead he threw a lob that appeared destined to be a turnover until teammate Chase Fieler grabbed it out of the air with one hand and threw down an incredible alley-oop slam.Leading by seven with under two minutes to play, FGCU broke Georgetown's full-court press with a deep pass to Comer. With 30 seconds remaining on the shot clock, the 6'3 sophomore drew the attention of two Georgetown defenders and then threw a gutsy, high-arching lob pass over his right shoulder to the cutting Fieler. Fieler flew through the lane and threw down a one-handed alley-oop dunk. And on Friday night, the No. 15 seed FGCU shocked the world by knocking off No. 2 seed Georgetown 78-68. Really, FGCU dominated the game, and they also threw down a few spectacular dunks. The most spectacular of which, was without question an alley-oop dunk from Chase Fieler that was set up by a street ball-esque underhanded lob pass from teammate Brett Comer.

Will Ferrell And Chad Smith Drum-Off On ‘Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon’

Will Ferrell and Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers have a Drum-Off which ends in ‘Don’t Fear the Reaper’ on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon.Of course, since Chad Smith and Will Ferrell look exactly the same (we're not kidding — look at them, it's the same damn person) there are no practical ramifications of the drum-off, hosted Thursday on Jimmy Fallon's Tonight Show. As Will Ferrell once put it, "there is no Will Ferrell. Only Chad Smith".The comedy actor accepted Smith’s public challenge – promising “the greatest drum v cowbell showdown the world has ever seen” – back in February last year. And on Thursday evening during The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, it finally happened. Donning backwards caps, Kiss T-shirts and those collarless leather jackets that US musicians and actors of a certain stature tend to prefer, the battle (aided by ghost drummer Questlove who was stood to the right of Ferrell) begins neck and neck. That's until the Anchorman star brings out his cowbell and the rest of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, for a rendition of Blue Oyster Cult's Don't Fear the Reaper. After a heated back-and-forth that included an exchange of Instagram videos, the pair finally agreed to do the drum-off for charity, with Ferrell raising money for Cancer for College and Smith for Little Kids Rock, respectively. So does Ferrell, whose previous percussion experience largely consists of playing the cowbell on "SNL" while wearing a super tiny shirt, have what it takes to defeat a professional drummer?Let's just say that after this, we need more drum-offs.

Up 26 points with just over eight minutes left in the third quarter, the Cleveland Cavaliers were well on their way to ending the Miami Heat's 23-game winning streak. After Cleveland had allowed Miami to come all the way back, a Cavs fan made his way past security and ran onto the court. He ran over to James and looked as if he said something to the three-time NBA MVP before continuing on toward the 3-point arc where he was grabbed by a security guard. The fan's shirt appeared to say "We Miss You" on the front in screen shots of the broadcast captured by Larry Brown Sports.Cavs Fan runs on the court with a "We Miss You LeBron" shirt as the Miami Heat play the Cleveland Cavaliers in LeBron's return to Cleveland.Crazy LeBron fan wears 2014 LeBron James Free Agency Shirt Heat Beat Cavs 98-94 for their 24th straight win.

UFC 158 St-Pierre vs Diaz Fight

UFC 158 takes place Saturday night from Montreal, headlined by a UFC welterweight title bout pitting champion Georges St. Pierre and challenger Nick Diaz. The contest, expected to be one of the biggest pay-per-view attractions of the year, has featured a unique buildup and hype. The mercurial Diaz was controversially selected for the title shot despite losing his last bout and failing a post-fight drug test. St. Pierre and UFC president Dana White justified this decision by saying St. Pierre was angry at Diaz and thought the "disrespectful" Diaz "deserves a beatdown."After a string of defenses in Strikeforce that showcased his potent stand up and high-volume pressure attack, there are no mysteries as to what Diaz’s gameplan will be in the UFC 158 main event: He’s going to come in the same way he always does, looking to force exchanges and mentally break "Rush."Finally, this fight is upon us. The main event at UFC 158: St. Pierre vs. Diaz sees UFC Welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre (23-2 MMA; 17-2 UFC) finally face former Strikeforce champion Nick Diaz (26-8(1) MMA; 7-5 UFC). This five round fight will be for GSP's UFC Welterweight title. The UFC 158 PPV airs this Saturday night, March 16, with the main card beginning at 10:00 p.m. ET / 7:00 p.m. PT.
