Joe Flacco crosses Mike Tomlin of intentionally interfering with Jacoby Jones’ return

Nine months ago, Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco joked that he considered running on to the field and tackling the 49ers’ Ted Ginn Jr. to preserve his team’s Super Bowl XLVII win. On Thanksgiving night, Flacco thinks Steelers coach Mike Tomlin stole his bit. Flacco accused Tomlin of intentionally wandering onto the field and almost colliding with Ravens wide receiver Jacoby Jones during a long kickoff return Thursday night."As I get close, I'm like, 'Is he going to move?' I just weaved to get out of the way. It broke my stride a little bit. I still shouldn't have got caught. It is what it is. (They) made the tackle. If I was him, I'd do the same thing to stop me."Jones wouldn't blame Tomlin for his failure to score on the play, but realizes that such a response was bolstered by the victory that was so crucial to the Ravens' playoff hopes. He was a little more deadpan after the game. “I always watch the returns on the Jumbotron. It provides better perspective for me,” Tomlin said afterward at M&T Bank Stadium. “Obviously, I lost my placement as he broke free and saw at the last second how close I was to the field of play. I do it quite often, like everybody else in the National Football League. I was wrong. I accept responsibility for it.”"I took some flack for joking around in the Super Bowl and saying that maybe you should run onto the field and tackle somebody if this guy breaks it," Flacco said. "That's exactly what he just did. He was looking at the big screen the whole entire time. He knew where he was, and he knew where Jacoby was.

Florida State And Florida Baseball Fight (Video)

The Florida Gators and Florida State Seminoles were playing baseball and apparently things got out of hand. As a Seminoles player was running to first base a Gators player stood in front of him, the two collided and a fight broke out. Some people on Twitter say that Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Jameis Winston, who plays football and baseball for the Seminoles, was punched in the face. Most accounts agreed that Winston was among the Seminoles players who came out of the dugout when the teams began to push and shove each other following a collision near first base in the eighth inning. No punches were thrown. There's plenty that happens in the "brawl" we don't see onscreen; that having been said, there were plenty of actual journalists in Jacksonville covering the game tonight & you'd think they would mention something about Winston's condition. As far as we can tell, there's some pushing and shoving and other horseplay that usually accompanies a bench-clearer; it doesn't look like it ever escalated to punches.

Umpire hit by line drive during Indians-Reds game (Video)

Third-base umpire Brad Myers was drilled in the groin area on a line drive hit by Brandon Phillips during the second inning of Monday's spring-training game between the Cleveland Indians and Cincinnati Reds.Myers, a base umpire on a rotating three-man crew, was hit hard behind the pitcher's mound in the second inning. The ball, hit by Cincinnati's Brandon Phillips, struck the umpire in the groin area. He was down for several minutes before he left on a cart driven by Reds trainer Tomas Vera. Myers was in a sitting position on the cart. While there's something about a man getting hit in his most sensitive of areas that's inherently funny (if it's not you, of course), the scene on the field Monday was also pretty scary. Myers was on the ground for several minutes. He got up and tipped his hat to the crowd, but was ultimately was carted off the field for a medical inspection.

Army dad surprises girl as she throws out first pitch

Alayna Adams, 9, threw out the first pitch at Thursday night's Tampa Bay Rays baseball game in honor of her father, a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army.Alayna's father had been serving in Afghanistan.Earlier in the day, Alayna thought she was in trouble when she and her mother had to meet with the principal of her school, Westlake Christian School, according to the Tampa Bay Times. They were then told they had been chosen from a group of military families to throw the ceremonial first pitch at the Tampa Bay Rays vs. Boston Red Socks game at Tropicana Field on Thursday night.Alayna threw the ball, a prerecorded video of Will offering good luck played on the Jumbotron. "Stay focused, throw the ball and I love you," the army dad told his daughter, notes Tampa's WTSP. But when Alayna threw the pitch, the catcher took off the mask and it turned out to be her father.According to a report from the Tampa Bay Times, Lt. Col. Adams arrived on Wednesday and stayed in a hotel that night to keep up the surprise. He told the Times: "That was the hardest part. Being back home and not being able to see them." Dad's return would have been memorable anyway it happened, but this sure had style points. And it made a lot more people tear up.

[Shocking] Angie Miller Eliminated On American Idol Top 3

Angie Miller had never been in the bottom two or three this season of "American Idol," and she had been hyped as the girl to beat ever since Hollywood Week, when she wowed the judges with her original song, "You Set Me Free." Although she never gave a performance quite as amazing as that again, Angie still seemed like a shoo-in for next week's finale, and she always seemed superhumanly confident...until this Thursday, when, much to the shock of the judges, she unexpectedly went home in third place. And she unexpectedly broke down.Less than 24 hours before Thursday's most important "Idol" results show of the season--the one that would determine the top two moving on to the finale--Angie had told reporters, "I feel confident that I'll make it." But when Ryan Seacrest informed this year's token golden child/chosen one that it would be Candice Glover and Kree Harrison advancing to the finale instead, her pageanty facade suddenly slipped away. Her exit from the show follows a Wednesday night performance show during which she was deemed the round one winner by Jimmy Iovine after her rendition of Elton John's "Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word." She followed the performance with "Try" by Pink, showing off her up-tempo rocker side. Finally, she took on Emeli Sande's "Maybe," taking a spot behind the piano that the judges and Iovine so seemed to hope she'd play every time.To close her "Idol" tenure, Miller sang a tearful exit song, at times unable to sing due to being so overwhelmed with emotion."I am very proud of how we forever changed television and the music industry. It's been a life changing opportunity but I am looking forward to focusing on my company Dream Merchant 21 and other business ventures." There are rumors that Jackson won't be the only departing judge. "American Idol" Season 13 will likely see a brand new judging panel.
