Teen Choice Awards 2014 Top 5 Show Moments
The 2014 Teen Choice Awards took place Sunday night at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, where hosts Sarah Hyland and Tyler Posey put on another memorable show.
From rockin' performances to tearful speeches, there were so many memorable moments. Here are just a few highlights.
The Fault in Our Stars Domination: After winning Choice Movie Actor: Drama, Ansel Elgort appeared to be really savoring the moment onstage. "My heart goes out to everyone who's dealing with [cancer] because cancer sucks," the actor said when accepting his first award of the night. Unfortunately, the music began to play leaving Elgort no choice but to wrap up his speech. Luckily, he was given more time to speak when the film won Choice Movie: Drama and Choice Movie: Chemistry. Surf's up! It was a fun ride for winners, presenters, and performers at the 2014 Teen Choice Awards, like Ultimate Choice Award recipient Selena Gomez, The Fault in Our Stars' winning duo Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort, and Hunger Games villain Donald Sutherland. Here's a look at some of the most memorable moments from the awards show held Sunday, Aug. 10, in L.A.Dynamic duo, indeed! Fan favorites Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort won big at Sunday's awards show, picking up surfboards for several prizes including Choice Lip-Lock and Choice Movie: Drama for Fault in Our Stars. Elfort picked up awards for Breakout Movie Star, Choice Movie Actor in a Drama, while Woodley individually took home the surfboard for Choice Movie Actress in Adventure for her role in the action flick Divergent.Demi Lovato kicked off the Teen Choice Awards with a performance and a win. After belting out her tune "Really Don't Care," the singer-actress surfed away with awards for choice summer song and choice female summer music star. Lovato used her acceptance speech to pump up the crowd of mostly roaring teenagers.
"I want you guys to know that instead of just getting up here and saying a speech, every single one of you deserves to have a happy and incredible life, so be the best you can be in everything because your dreams can come true if you work hard for them," beamed Lovato.
Teen Choice Awards co-hosts Tyler Posey of "Teen Wolf" and Sarah Hyland of "Modern Family" said 165 million votes were cast online for the 16th annual awards, which honor movies, television, music, comedy, sports, fashion and Web stars in such silly categories as choice hottie, smile and villain, which went to "The Hunger Games" heavy Donald Sutherland.
