Connor McDavid injures shoulder against Flyers

Edmonton Oilers rookie phenom Connor McDavid left Tuesday night's game against the Philadelphia Flyers with a suspected shoulder injury that will keep him out of the lineup "long term," according to head coach Todd McLellan. McLellan confirmed that McDavid suffered an upper-body injury that will take time to heal. McDavid, the 18-year-old phenom Edmonton selected first overall in June, slammed into the boards in a scary collision. His arm was positioned awkwardly and it looks like he jammed his left shoulder. McDavid immediately left the game and was favoring his left arm. McDavid left the ice favouring his left shoulder. He was seen wearing a sling in the hallway behind the dressing room and did not return for the third period.

Georgia Tech Stuns Florida State On Blocked FG Return (Video)

Kick Six now has a competitor – Kick Block Six. Georgia Tech just beat Florida State, 22-16. The Seminoles attempted a game-winning 56-yard field goal, but it was blocked. But somehow, some way, the Yellow Jackets blocked the field goal and defensive back Lance Austin returned the ball 78 yards for a touchdown.Heck of a way for the Yellow Jackets to snap a five-game losing streak and for a 31-game regular season winning streak for the Seminoles to end.

Dallas Cowboys RB Lance Dunbar leaves game with leg injury

Dallas Cowboys running back Lance Dunbar was carted off the field with an apparent left knee injury Sunday. Dunbar hurt his knee during the second half of the Cowboys game against the New Orleans Saints. He was helped off the field, not putting any weight on his left leg, before heading to the locker room on a cart with a towel over his head. Dunbar was having a terrific night on the ground with three rushes for 54 yards. Unfortunately, his night looks to be over after that. Early on in the 3rd quarter, Dunbar went to receive a kick but had his knee buckle as he tried returning the ball. He would go down in a ton of pain. Darren McFadden replaced Dunbar as the Cowboys' kickoff returner. But the bigger loss for the Cowboys is what Dunbar gives them in the run game and as a receiver out of the backfield. Dunbar had a 45-yard run to the right side on the second play of Sunday's game against the Saints.

UFC 192 Daniel Cormier Def. Alexander Gustafsson

Tonight's UFC 192 main event was for the light heavyweight championship between reigning champion Daniel Cormier and challenger Alexander Gustafsson. Much was made over Gustafsson getting a title shot coming off a KO loss to Anthony Johnson, and he came into this matchup as more than a 2-to-1 underdog. Cormier, however fortunate the circumstances were to him to actually win it, was making his first title defense.Daniel Cormier opened the fight as the aggressor and there was little action till he got a hold of Alexander Gustafsson. Cormier lifted Gustafsson into the air for quite the takedown, which was visually appealing and had the fans rising to their feet. Cormier worked from the top but Gustafsson got full guard. Cormier was able to escape and get to side control, but Gustafsson was also able to escape and return to his feet. Cormier came in with a combination that forced Gustafsson to scramble to the side to escape.Alexander went for a submission but nearly wound up side-mounted. Cormier went to half-guard and started busting Gustafsson up with elbows. Side control for Cormier was quickly lost as Gustafsson sprung back to his feet. After a Gustafsson kick, Cormier threw a wild right hand that more pushed Gustafsson than actually hurt him. Gustafsson went for a takedown, Cormier slipped, Cormier finished with a couple of uppercuts when he regained his footing.Cormier began the fight trying to walk down Gustafsson once again. Cormier began to mix in some low kicks. Cormier landed a big pair of rights and Gustafsson wobbled a bit trying to catch his balance. Gustafsson responded with a right of his own. Cormier got Gustafsson by the collar and landed a couple more upper cuts again. Cormier stumbled but got up quickly. Cormier was able to get a hold of Gustafsson once again and went for the upper cuts. Gustafsson tried to fight out of it with knees. Cormier became more relentless of his pursuit of Gustafsson but got caught and was dropped. Gustafsson opened up round 4 with kicks and stiff jabs. He went for a takedown and got stuffed. Back to the clinch they went but Cormier couldn't fire off more uppercuts. Cormier chased Gustafsson down and clubbed him with a right and left. Two right hands by Gustafsson who had found a second wind. The action slowed a bit at the midway point of the first championship round. Cormier ate a hard body kick that he tried to catch. A nice right hand by Cormier was answered with a Gustafsson knee to the midsection. Another knee in the clinch by Gustafsson, who was making Cormier chase him. Gustafsson landed the first big strike of the round, a right that knocked Cormier back. Cormier continued to chase Gustafsson and landed a big right of his own, stumbling Gustafsson. Cormier landed a kick to Gustafsson’s body. Cormier followed it up with a couple big left hook to Gustafsson’s face. Gustafsson went for a take down and Cormier stuffed it. Gustafsson continued to run to escape pressure and bad situations. Cormier got Gustafsson by the back of the neck again, but Gustafsson got a hold of Cormier’s hand to stop any potential upper cuts. The two continued to clinch in the final round, Gustafsson looking for some knees and Cormier working with his hands.

Floyd Mayweather Defeats Andre Berto

Heavily favored Floyd Mayweather Jr. defeated Andre Berto in what could be the last fight of his career. The boxers went 12 rounds but there was no upset, with Mayweather winning by decision at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas. Though the hype for the fight had been subdued throughout the week, Mayweather has stated the bout would be the last of his career. He reiterated his intention to retire after the fight, Mayweather is definitely the aggressor early on with several left jabs. Berto keeps grabbing his trunks with his left hand, not sure if that is a quirk or not. Not much action in the first round as Berto was being very cautious. Berto finally looks to be pushing the action at the start of the round. Mayweather is consistently evading majority of Berto's shots. Better round for Berto. Mayweather lands a good right to the face. Berto just cannot figure Mayweather out, he can't find a way to land many punches at all. The last 20 seconds of the round has had the most action of the fight so far. Both guys landed some punches, He also retained his undefeated streak, as Mayweather has now managed to tie the 49-0 record set by Rocky Marciano. Going into the fight, Mayweather claimed this would be his final bout, and it’s a claim he stuck to in his post-fight interview, as he addressed concerns that he’d injured his hand past the halfway point of the fight. “It doesn’t matter if I hurt my left hand and my right hand, my career is over,” Mayweather said, before going on to explain why he’s walking away from the sport of boxing. “You got to know when to hang it up. I think it’s my time for me to hang it up.” Is this it for Mayweather? We'll see. He seems set to tie Rocky Marciano at 49-0. Will he go for 50? He definitely isn't going to win any new fans tonight as this was a classic Mayweather exhibition. Crowd on their feet at the minute mark as it looked like Mayweather might be trying to finish Berto. Mayweather lifts his hands in the air at the end. Tim Tebow throws magical touchdown pass During Eagles' Game

The Eagles quarterback threw a beautiful back-shoulder touchdown pass to Rasheed Bailey during the second quarter of Philadelphia’s preseason matchup against the New York Jets on Thursday. On third-and-16, Tebow dropped back and fired to his left. Rookie wide receiver Rasheed Bailey turned and, as cornerback Dexter McDougle closed in, caught the pass for an 18-yard touchdown. Tebow completed 6 of 10 passes for 106 yards and a touchdown in the first half. The Jets led 17-12 at the break. Strikes like that to Bailey are only going to help his cause as he makes his case for a spot on the roster. Tebow already has a good chance because of his versatility and the ability to run a read-option, but if he can show big pass play ability, the Eagles will have no chase but to keep him.

Ronda Rousey had two important missions to complete in the main event of UFC 190 tonight (Sat., Aug. 1, 2015), which took place inside HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. And it was quick. Defend her women's Bantamweight belt and teach her opponent, Bethe Correia, and important lesson for messing with her friends and family.In a battle of undefeated fighters, Rousey, the heavy favorite, came out with a flurry of punches and kicks, with Correia unable to land a solid blow. It took her all of 34 seconds to end the fight. Rousey moves in and lands a couple punches. She lands a few uppercuts and rocks Correia by the cage. She knocks her out with a right hand.
