Zoanette Johnson National Anthem American Idol 12

Can words describe Zoanette Johnson’s audition? This flamboyant contestant sang new life into the National Anthem, infusing it with a dash of drama and a whole lot of crazy. But personality aside, Zoanette’s voice left the American Idol 2013 judges in shock (the good kind). She even did a shout out to Obama. She should have been at the Inauguration! She’s going to make it far in the competition I know it!Watch Video

Lazaro Arbos American Idol 2013 Audition

The 21-year-old contestant has a talking disorder; Lazaro started to stuttering when he was 6 years old, but not when he sings. Despite the stuttering, Lazaro Arbos gives a unbelievable audition performance that melts the judges heart. But just when it seemed like Mariah and Nicki were about to brawl like a couple of scorned women on a particularly heated love-triangular episode of "The Jerry Springer Show," a memorable, bow-tied contestant came along to turn the show around and remind viewers (and hopefully the judges) what "Idol" is supposed to be all about: giving kids a much-needed break and making talented people's dreams come true. Yes, it was sappy and manipulative (cue violins here), but it was just the sort of sap and manipulation the show dearly needed.Better still, the Season 12 Chicago auditions gave us a good, long listen to a whopping 16 Golden Ticket recipients — with several legit potential winners in the mix. (They must’ve gotten good and inspired by an appearance from Season 10′s incredible Haley Reinhart.)Kez Ban auditions on American Idol 12 with an original song. She was absolutely amazing. She didn’t want to fill out any paperwork. Love it.
