Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper had a scary incident in Monday's game against the Mets in the second inning after getting kicked in the head by New York second baseman Eric Young Jr. Having drawn a leadoff walk, Harper went in hard at second base to break up a double play on Ian Desmond's grounder to third base. Harper did not appear to lose consciousness, but was on the ground for several minutes as he was tended to by trainers. He eventually was taken out of the game and walked off under his own power.

Brooks Orpik Huge Hit on Jonathan Toews (Video) 3/30/14

Chicago Blackhawks fans are collectively holding their breath after captain Jonathan Toews was forced from their game against the Pittsburgh Penguins Sunday with an upper-body injury. Toward the end of the second period, with the Penguins holding a 2-1 lead, Toews took control of the puck along the boards when Brooks Orpik drilled him. The hit occurred in the second period. Toews was gathering the puck along the boards and didn't see Orpik coming, leading to one of the hardest hits of the season by far: Toews immediately grabbed his arm or shoulder and limped off to the locker room. Here's a closer look at the hit. The Blackhawks were down 2-1 at the time Toews was injured. Patrick Sharp also looked in pain on the bench, favoring his left arm/wrist, but he stayed in the game. The Blackhawks are already without Patrick Kane, out the rest of the regular season with a left leg injury, and Bryan Bickell, who could return from his upper-body injury on Thursday against the Minnesota Wild.

Jaba Kankava saves Oleg Gusev's life | Dynamo Kiev vs Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk

A player's injury in a Ukrainian Premier League match today could have ended in a much worse way if his opponent didn't act as quickly as he did.During today's match between Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk and Dynamo Kiev, Oleh Husyev took at knee to the head by Dnipro keeper Denys Boyko, immediately knocking him to the pitch. According to a report on the Toronto Sun, Husyev was unconscious and swallowed his tongue. When Husyev hit the ground, a member of the opposing team sensed trouble before running over and reaching into the 30-year-old’s mouth to clear his airway. When panic set in, members from both teams, along with the stadium’s medical staff, began working to stabilize Husyev, who eventually rose to his feet and was carted off the pitch.Medical attention was still obviously required, as a dazed and clearly foggy Gusev was lifted by staff and players onto the stretcher, and there is no word on his current condition as of now, although he was apparently seen standing on the sidelines after being brought off. The heroic actions of Kankava, which appeared to be almost instinctual, very likely avoided what could have been a much worse situation had Gusev gone some time without being able to breathe. The visiting Dnipro ended up winning 2-0 behind a pair of goals from Matheus bookending the halftime break. With the win, Dnipro is tied with Shakhtar Donetsk for the league’s lead, while Dynamo Kiev sits two points back in third.

5.1 earthquake: Vin Scully calmly calls earthquake in Los Angeles

Nothing can shake Vin Scully, not even an earthquake. The legendary baseball announcer calmly integrated play-by-play commentary of the earthquake that struck Southern California on Friday evening into his call of the Dodgers' exhibition game against the Angels at Dodger Stadium. "A little tremor in the ballpark," Scully told viewers as Dodgers catcher A.J. Ellis waited for a pitch from Garrett Richards of the Angels in the sixth inning. "I am not sure if the folks felt it but we certainly felt it here in press-box row. A tremor and only that, thank goodness."As you can see in the video, the cameras began to shake and couldn’t produce a steady picture while the 5.1 quake was going. The epicenter of the quake was said to be in La Habra, which is about 25 miles southeast of Dodger Stadium. That was close enough for everyone to feel it throughout the press area, according to Scully.Scully later recounted the massive 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake in the Bay Area, which occurred just before a game of the World Series. No damage was reported in Los Angeles from the Friday quake, which was centered in La Habra.

Lance Stephanson Ejected For Taunting Dwanye Wade (Video)

Lance Stephenson of the Indiana Pacers pulled off a nice move to finish at the rack, but the Miami Heat's Dwyane Wade had the last laugh on Wednesday. With a little more than five minutes remaining in the fourth quarter and Indiana leading 74-72, Stephenson slithered his way through Miami’s defense for a lefty layup. After finishing the shot, Stephenson fell to the court, and he became entangled with Mario Chalmers as he sprang back to his feet. Wade watched as Stephenson reacted emotionally and the two players engaged in a staredown. Stephenson then said a few words to Wade, and the Heat’s All-Star guard simply smiled in return as Stephenson flexed towards the crowd and shouted. The outburst led Wade to raise his arms, wondering why the officials weren’t assessing a technical foul to Stephenson for his extra antics. But then he made a mistake. He taunted Dwyane Wade. Wade is a veteran troll. He simply smirked at Stephenson and then ... tattled. Wade gets the ref's attention and the refs give Stephenson his second technical foul of the game. Two technicals is an automatic ejection.

Georgia performs ‘Money On My Mind’ on The Voice UK 2014

Christina Marie sang "Everlong" on The Voice UK 2014 Series 3 Live Quarter Finals for Team Ricky Wilson.Wow this was so off. Not a great vocal at all. She struggled from beginning to end. The black to color effect was interesting, but it didn’t help this performance at all because she was out of tune.

Christina Marie Performs ‘Everlong’ On The Voice UK 2014

Christina Marie stunned judges on The Voice with a sensational high note to win one of four fast passes to the semi-final of The voice. Performing last in the competition, she sang the Foo Fighters' Everlong, which took her straight through to the the next stage in the competition.I did not recognize the arrangement at all. How can “Everlong” be sung like this? Apparently it’s possible. I think at some point I didn’t even care what she was singing — she was so into it!She’s a front-runner for sure. She looks so current and I think she will do well if she wins.

UFC Fight Night 38 Shogun Rua vs Dan Henderson 2 Full Fight

Former champions Mauricio 'Shogun' Rua and Dan Henderson both made weight without any problems during Saturday's weigh-ins from Natal, Brazil, giving the green light for Sunday's main event in what has to be one of the most highly andicipated rematches in UFC history. Co-main event fighter C.B. Dollaway did his part to invite a heated Brazilian crowd to get even louder as he weighed in before having his opponent Cezar 'Mutante' Ferreira put his fist right on his neck as they stared down. Dollaway just smiled in response before the two fighters shook hands and left the stage. After losing two straight to Chael Sonnen and Alexander Gustafsson, Rua recently got back into the win column with an emphatic first round knockout of James Te Huna at UFC Fight Night 33. Still, his UFC tenure has been marred by bouts of extreme inconsistency. "Shogun" can win two UFC bouts in a row by avenging what may be his most famous loss. Let's take a look at the keys to victory for Rua vs. Henderson.Henderson was once again winning in round 4, until the rear-right uppercut that Shogun was looking for all night finally landed. Round 5 was arguably the most one sided round of the fight, with many scoring it 10-8 for Shogun.

Chelsea v Arsenal : Andre Marriner Appears To Show Kieran Gibbs Red By Mistake

Arsenal's spectacular collapse at Chelsea descended into farce when Kieran Gibbs was mistakenly red-carded by referee Andre Marriner, instead of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Gibbs protested his innocence profusely, and Oxlade-Chamberlain even admitted to Marriner “it was me”. But happy with his calamitous decision, Gibbs was sent packing, and Eden Hazard quickly converted the spot-kick by drilling the ball down the middle as Wojciech Szczesny dived to his right to make it 3-0. Samuel Eto'o and André Schürrle put Chelsea into a 2-0 lead inside seven minutes before Oxlade-Chamberlain dived to divert Eden Hazard's effort - which was going wide - with his hand. In the context of the match, it meant little—Chelsea were already two goals to the good and scored a third from the resulting penalty—but as mistakes go, it was extraordinary. Oxlade-Chamberlain also was shown in television footage appearing to explain to Marriner that he was the one who had made the mistake, but to no avail.

As a result of the emotional state of the players on both teams caused by the medical emergency, the game is being postponed. We apologize for any inconvenience and we thank the fans." The Stars conveyed the message to the Blue Jackets that they weren't up for finishing the game on Monday. "They're shaken and they want to reschedule. We understand that," John Davidson, the Blue Jackets president of hockey operations, told Fox Sports Ohio. "They were shaken to the core." Peverley missed the preseason and the season opener because of a procedure to correct an irregular heartbeat, a condition diagnosed during a training camp physical. He made his Stars debut on Oct. 5 against Washington. He sat out last week's game at Columbus because of an upper body injury but then played in Dallas' next two games before Monday. Both teams skated off the ice. The Stars didn't go directly through the tunnel next to their bench, but through a door at the south end of the rink. The game had been stopped after players from both teams attracted the officials' attention by banging their sticks on the boards and the ice. Alexander Gustafsson Vs Jimi Manuwa Fight UFC Fight Night

LONDON — A rematch of 2013's "Fight of the Year" is halfway to reality, as Alexander Gustafsson (16-2 mixed martial arts, 8-2 UFC) scored a second-round TKO win over a dangerous Jimi Manuwa (14-1, 3-1). The light heavyweight bout was the main event of today's "UFC Fight Night: Gustafsson vs. Manuwa" event at O2 Arena in London. It streamed on UFC Fight Pass. The result clears the way for Gustafsson to rematch current UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones, should he defeat Glover Teixeira in their April meeting.Manuwa is a power man, and he has won 93 percent of his matches through knock out. That means the Swede will have to watch out in the stand up exchanges and will have to be weary about taking any clear hits. If that does happen there's every chance he could end up on his back. Gustafsson instead will be hoping to take Manuwa to the floor, where he has the clear advantage. If he can get things onto the ground then he has the necessary weaponry to claim a necessary submission. That means Manuwa will need to stay away and try to not get entangled in a scrap on the mat.In the main event, Alexander Gustafsson will square off against Jimi Manuwa in a light heavyweight showdown. Lightweights Michael Johnson and Melvin Guillard will battle in the co-main event.
