UFC 177 T.J. Dillashaw def. Joe Soto knockout (head kick) – Round 5

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- T.J. Dillashaw knew something about Joe Soto that the general public refused to believe: This his short-notice challenger was one tough hombre who was better than the fact he had never fought in the UFC would seem to indicate. Soto, of Santa Rosa, Calif., has trained with Dillashaw at Sacramento's Team Alpha Male, and Dillashaw knew he was in for a tough fight when Soto took the UFC bantamweight title shot made available when Renan Barao had to drop out of the fight on Friday after weight-cutting issues. So while Dilliashaw went on to victory at UFC 177 on Saturday night, Soto made him work for it. Soto hung with the champ for the better part of four and a half rounds before Dillashaw finally finished him in the fifth with a head kick, sending the local fans at Sleep Train Arena home happy. The stoppage came at 2:20. "You guys don't know him, but he's a tough guy and a tough opponent," said Dillashaw (11-2). "He gave me everything he had."Dillashaw stayed mobile early on in the bout, looking for angles to deliver power punches. Soto, meanwhile, seemed hesitant to engage, and when he tried to put the champion on his back with a leg-sweep, it backfired, allowing Dillashaw to scramble and take his back. A brief choke threat was defended, and Soto landed a stiff right hand just past the midway point of the round. Dillashaw repaid him with a body shot, and in the final seconds, they went toe-to-toe with both landing clean shots. Soto’s right hand opened the second frame with authority as he cracked Dillashaw with a series of looping shots. Dillashaw fired back, forcing Soto to cover up as combinations arrived at a quick clip. A lead uppercut found its mark for the champ, but Soto’s jab was strong. Dillashaw chased Soto down and winged more quick combinations as Soto tried to evade and counter. Soto dove for a takedown and came up short, and after a spirited exchange in close, Dillashaw easily took the fight to the mat. It was a merely a show of dominance, however, as he got back to his feet and peppered Soto with combinations, ducking in an out.Dillashaw misses with a head kick on a fleeing Soto and circles back out. Dillashaw switching stances and drives a hard inside leg kick. Soto moving forward, but Dillashaw's defense is better and he's staying out of range for the most part. Outside leg kick for Dillashaw finds the mark. Both fighters trade short punches on the inside. Dillashaw manages to score with another double. Soto attempts some rubber guard work, but lets it go. Soto's able to get to his feet in a scramble.Soto attempts a single and is stuffed. Meanwhile Dillashaw scores with a head kick and aggressive punching combination with Soto's back against the fence. Dillashaw circling out and light on his feet. The champion digs to the body, which backs Soto up and then walks into a crushing head kick. Soto is almost out and collapses. The referee stops it there.

Syracuse QB Terrel Hunt Ejected After Throwing Punch Vs Villanova

Syracuse hasn't been able to put away Villanova in the early going of their season-opening matchup against the FCS squad, and it won't get any easier: Their starting quarterback, Terrel Hunt, opted to throw a punch at a Wildcat player, earning him an ejection and forcing the Orange to go with unproven freshman Austin Wilson.Hunt was being tackled to the ground following a run late in the second quarter when linebacker Dillon Lucas made contact with his helmet. Before getting up, Hunt punched Lucas on the facemask.Penalty flags immediately flew, and Hunt was automatically ejected.Up 10-7 with 3:24 left before halftime, Hunt didn't like the way he was tackled by linebacker Joey Harmon and decided to let him know. Considering he ends up punching Harmon's helmet, it's a rather dumb way to let him know.Hunt was ejected from the game for his punch, and it'll be interesting to see if Syracuse coach Scott Shafer hands out any further punishment. It's completely understandable that Hunt would be upset if he felt the Nova player came in late, but you just have to be smarter than that. Especially if you're the quarterback.

Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Courteney Cox have Friends Reunion on Jimmy Kimmel (Video)

There has long been rumours of a Friends reunion, often with reports that Jennifer Aniston has been the one star reluctant to sign on. But the 45-year-old got a step closer to it actually happening on Wednesday evening, as she performed a skit with former co-stars Courteney Cox, 50, and Lisa Kudrow, 50, on Jimmy Kimmel Live in Hollywood. Jimmy, 46, kicked off the idea of the reunion when he told guest Jennifer that he had written his own fan fiction of Friends and wanted her to take part. The three ladies we all remember as Monica Geller, Rachel Green and Pheobe Buffay reunited on Jimmy Kimmel Live at "Monica's apartment" for what may be the greatest thing on late-night TV tonight.A very reluctant Aniston was taken by Kimmel to a mystery set which he revealed to be an amazingly accurate remake of the famous kitchen from the much loved show."Friends" celebrates its 20th anniversary in September, and enthusiasm for the NBC comedy hasn't waned much despite the fact that it went off the air in 2004. As part of the celebration, a replica of the show's Central Perk coffee shop will open for a month in New York City, according to the New York Post.

Caroline Wozniacki Gets Hair Stuck In Racket At US Open

Caroline Wozniacki played Aliaksandra Sasnovich in the first round of the 2014 U.S. Open, and on one point, a rarely seen outside influence caused her to lose control of her racket her hair.During her second-round US Open match against Aliaksandra Sasnovich on Wednesday, Wozniacki got her hair stuck in her racket as she was about to return a volley. It looked painful, but she still tried to return Sasnovich’s volley. She failed, but she tried. Rory McIlroy has certainly never tried to hit an iron with his club stuck in his hair so I guess Wozniacki is the current winner of the breakup.

66TH ANNUAL EMMY AWARDS : Aaron Paul wins Best Supporting Actor for Breaking Bad

The 66th Primetime Emmy Awards are at the Nokia theatre in Loas Angeles, hosted by Saturday Night Live alumni Seth Meyers. HBO once again makes its presence felt as they lead the nominations for the 66th annual Primetime Emmy Awards. The introduction of critically and commercially acclaimed show 'True Detective' starring Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson as well as the HBO original film 'The Normal Heart' showcase a strong front for the cable giant. Netflix once again proved that this is the time for internet streaming companies as they racked up more nominations this year, 31 to be precise. The Best Actor in a Drama Series saw the tightest race of the year go down in that category but there needs to be no credit taken away from the Best Supporting Actors in a Drama Series as each name is huge. Aaron Paul was the clear front runner coming in as this was his last year of eligibility for Breaking Bad, but Peter Dinklage from Game of Thrones was another favorite heading into things."My God, Breaking Bad has changed my life and I'm standing up here because of one man," Paul said. "Thank you for believing in me and letting me play this guy. I miss him." Being witchy was good for Jessica Lange and Kathy Bates at the Emmys. Both American Horror Story: Coven stars won their respective categories, Lange for lead actress in a miniseries and Bates for supporting actress. "I'm profoundly surprised at this, but very grateful," Lange said of her third Emmy win. Bates said she didn't think she was going to win because she saw some of the award handlers in the green room. "They caught my eye and they both tilted their heads in that social-worker 'I'm sorry' way." Fresh off a lucrative new deal, The Big Bang Theory star Jim Parsons won his fourth award for lead actor in a comedy. "There's no accounting for taste, and due to good fortune I stand up here tonight," Parsons said. He also paid tribute to his late father, who encouraged him to be an actor. "In a career that hinges on confidence so much of the time, I thank him." Julia Louis-Dreyfus won her third consecutive award for lead actress in a comedy. After kissing Cranston on the way to the stage, she thanked her show's cable home, HBO: "Honestly, I've worked in a lot of places in this town, and it's my favorite place I've ever worked."Ultimately, the Breaking Bad star prevailed with his performance in the drama's final season, for which he received his third Emmy. In his acceptance speech, Paul thanked creator Vince Gilligan for always believing in him and praised his fellow cast mates and crew for an amazing run, saying of the show, "It changed my life." Like Anna Gunn, he also reminisced about working with Bryan Cranston. "There isn't a day that goes by that I don't miss running to work to be able to work opposite of you, my friend."

UFC Fight Night 49 Dos Anjos Def. Ben Henderson Knockout Punch

On Saturday August 23, the UFC hosted UFC Fight Night 49: Henderson vs. dos Anjos from the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In the night’s main event top five lightweights, Benson Henderson and Rafael dos Anjos, stepped in the cage with their sites set on moving closer to a title shot. Henderson was entering into his eighth straight main event fight. The former lightweight champion had won back-to-back fights over Josh Thomson and Rustam Khabilov since dropping the title to Anthony Pettis last Fall. Dos Anjos was entering the main event spotlight for the first time after previously fighting fifteen different times for the promotion. Dos Anjos had only lost one of his last seven fights and most recently scored a TKO victory over Jason High.Henderson went right to the center of the cage and started pawing out his ab to gauge the range. The two men exchanged leg kicks. Dos Anjos hit Henderson with a left hand and dos Anjos fired of another combination to follow it up. Henderson knocked dos Anjos to the mat with a front kick to the body, but dos Anjos popped back to his feet and put the pressure on Henderson. Push-kick by Henderson sends RFA flying to the canvas. Dos Anjos catches him against the fence, lands a combo and follows up with a knee. RDA continues to attack and he stuns Henderson. The ref steps in and this one is all over, as John McCarthy called it. Henderson tries to tell him he is fine and can keep going, but we have a huge upset to conclude the evening.

Sam Bradford Left Knee Injury

St. Louis starting quarterback Sam Bradford reinjured his surgically repaired left knee in the first quarter against the Browns on Saturday night. The Rams had four other starters hurt in the first half. Bradford, who missed the Rams’ final nine games last season after having a torn left anterior cruciate ligament repaired, went down after being pressured and hit high by defensive lineman Armonty Bryant. As Bradford stayed on the ground for several minutes, Rams coach Jeff Fisher came onto the field with trainers to check on his condition. Bradford, who is wearing a brace on his left knee, walked gingerly to the sideline, was examined by medical personnel behind the Rams’ bench before being escorted to the locker room for further medical tests.Bradford exited the game against the Browns with a leg injury, and on the sideline the team’s medical staff appeared to be examining his left knee. That’s the same knee that he had surgically reconstructed after a season-ending torn ACL last year. The knock on Bradford has always been that he can’t stay healthy, and the Rams desperately need this to be the year that he proves that wrong. Another serious injury would be a disaster for Bradford and for the Rams.Bradford went 4-of-9 for 77 yards before leaving. Veteran Shaun Hill entered to replace Bradford. St. Louis lost two other players in the opening quarter as defensive tackle Kendall Langford and guard Rodger Saffold went out with leg injuries. Two more Rams were injured on the same play in the second quarter. Left cornerback Trumaine Johnson and defensive tackle Michael Brockers went down, but Brockers walked off under his own power. Johnson's injury appeared to be serious. He was taken off the field on a cart, and several teammates wished him well before he was driven away.

Angels' Garrett Richards suffers knee injury

Los Angeles Angels pitcher Garrett Richards had to be stretchered off the field Wednesday night after his right knee buckled while attempting to cover first base in the second inning against the Boston Red Sox. Richards was hurt while covering first base following a ground ball to the right side off the bat of Brock Holt. The severity of course isn't yet known, but the above doesn't look promising. Whatever the result, Richards's injury comes not long after the Angels lost fellow starter Tyler Skaggs to Tommy John surgery. Richards ran to first and at some point his feet got tangled underneath him and he fell down awkwardly. He was in serious pain, screaming out loud, and definitely does grab at his left knee. Angels trainers and staff checked him out during a brief delay and he had to be carted off the field.

UFC Fight Night 47 Ryan Bader def. Ovince Saint Preux unanimous decision

On Saturday August 16, the UFC held UFC Fight Night 47: Bader vs. St.Preux from the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Maine. In the night’s main event light heavyweights Ryan Bader and Ovince St.Preux battled to move up the light heavyweight hierarchy. Bader (17-4) came in riding a two fight winning streak with decision nods over Rafael Cavalcante and Anthony Perosh since his most recent loss a year ago to most recent light heavyweight title challenger, Glover Teixiera. St.Preux (16-5) got his first main event slot as a member of the UFC in only his fifth octagon appearance. St.Preux is unbeaten in his four fights with the promotion and has finished three straight opponents. Bader comes into the fight on a two-fight win streak, having earned unanimous decision victories over Anthony Perosh back in December and Rafael Cavalcante in June. In his last six fights, Bader is 4-2 with one Submission of the Night, but both losses by (T)KO. St. Preux is on a five-fight win streak, dating back to his final fight in Strikeforce and all four of his fights in the UFC. Four of his wins on this streak have been finishes, two knockouts and two submissions. Since 2010, St. Preux is 13-1, with the lone loss having come against the No. 7 ranked middleweight, Gegard Mousasi. The former title challenger had lost three of his last four bouts by TKO and had last stepped in the cage nine months ago against Nick Diaz. Before the recent rough patch, Maynard was unbeaten in his first ten bouts. As the fourth frame unfolded, it appeared Saint Preux had settled on looking to load up in hopes of landing one concussive blow on the feet. However, Bader simply avoided the big shots as they came in, slipping underneath the attempts and then bringing Saint Preux to the floor. Prior to the start of the final round, Saint Preux’s corner implored him to turn up the volume and push forward until the final bell. He responded by scoring an early takedown, though he couldn’t keep Bader on the floor. Once back on the feet, a few elbows sliced Bader open, but Saint Preux still couldn’t slow his opponent’s grind. The fight ended with Bader still looking for a takedown, and it was clear he had done enough to take home a decision win, and he was rewarded with scores of 48-47, 49-46, and 49-46.With the win, Bader (19-4 MMA, 11-4 UFC) is now riding a three-fight winning streak.

Ross Pearson def. Gray Maynard 2nd Round UFC Fight Night 47

Maynard landed first, looked light on his feet and utilized good head movement. Pearson quickly started finding his timing, though, landing several straights and jabs. Maynard shot in and took Pearson down against the cage but Pearson got back up and separated from Maynard, landing a nice strike on the way out. Pearson started landing some nice strikes and cut open Gray on the bridge of his nose. Pearson controlled the pace until the end of the round when Maynard shot in on Pearson and took him down again. Pearson didn’t stay there and quickly got back to his feet. Pearson ended the round with a heavy body kick to the mid-section of Maynard. Referee Keith Peterson intervened at the 1:35 mark of the second frame as Pearson pounded at Maynard with right hands. Seconds before, a left hook sent Maynard to the canvas. Pearson caught Maynard loading up for a left hook and landed a straight right that staggered the veteran. Early on, Maynard availed himself well with his lead hand, nailing Pearson with a left hook and working the body. Pearson, though, repeatedly scored with his jab and refused to let Maynard smother him on the canvas despite a trip to the mat in the first frame.Maynard stood with Pearson for the opening minute of Round 2, but he then looked to land another takedown. Pearson was able to shake off the attempt and circle back to the center of the cage after having his back against the cage. Pearson landed a huge right hand that seemed to hurt Maynard, before uncorking another devastating shot that dropped Maynard right to the mat and the fight was all over.

Miss Texas 2014 Monique Evans Throws out Terrible First Pitch at Rangers Game

Miss Texas Monique Evans threw out the first pitch Friday before the Angels-Rangers game in Arlington, and her effort was just a bit wide of the plate. Evans employed a very unique windup and delivery, And while Evans sported her pageant crown and cut a unique acrobatic figure (a la gymnast McKayla Maroney a couple weeks earlier), the beauty pageant winner left a whole lot to be desired with this underwhelming underhanded gutter ball of a pitch, prompting the broadcaster to announce it "juuust a bit outside." Evans ended up deciding to toss the ball underhand, but it didn't come anywhere close to the catcher, falling well short and looking more like a grounder. The professional ballerina's follow-through looked clean, but everything else was suspect—except for the crown.

Taylor Swift Is Jimmy Fallon's New BFF On 'Ew Tonight Show

Taylor Swift holds onto a drawing of a unicorn while making an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday (August 13) in New York City. During the funny skit, the 24-year-old country singer channeled braces wearing Natalie and Jimmy Fallon took the role Sara while playing show and tell. Spoiled by Swift and NBC, the singer-songwriter’s “Tonight Show” visit includes participation in the show’s “Ew!” segment. To match wits with host Jimmy Fallon’s “Sara,” Taylor Swift performs from within the nerdy confines of alter ego “Natalie.” Swift also sits down–as her true self–for an interview with Fallon. Watch the pair bond over a variety of topics including made up mythical creatures, Band-Aid collections and whether or not you should ever get back together with an ex. (Spoiler Alert! Never ever ever ever do it.) After relegating rice pudding, yield signs, cellphone airplane modes and breaking up to the "Ew!" pile, Swift made her thoughts on getting back together with a former flame quite plain. "Ew!" she said. "Never?" asked Fallon. "Never, ever, ever, ever, ever!" replied Swift to peals of laughter.

Dallas Cowboys and Oakland Raiders Brawl during practice

The Dallas Cowboys and Oakland Raiders had a joint practice on Tuesday, and the action got out of hand toward the end of the session. The two sides got into a huge fight during one of the drills, and many players rushed in to defend their teammates. A pair of brawls -- one of which involved an altercation between a Cowboys' player and a Raiders' fan -- highlighted Tuesday’s practice between the Cowboys and Raiders. A melee between the Dallas defense and Oakland offense almost spilled into the pro-Raiders portion of the crowd. The Cowboys’ offense and Raiders’ defense brawled after the final play of the practice. “That passion, that’s mostly what I’d hoped what we would get out of getting these teams together,” said Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones, who half-jokingly praised the remarkable power of Raiders offensive lineman Austin Howard's uppercut punches. The players pushing and shoving appeared to get very close to fans during one of the fights. They weren't done after that, either, as the two teams fought again when the Cowboys offense took the field and a backup reserve had his helmet ripped off. Though it's hard to tell from this recording, Pat Doney of NBC Dallas-Fort Worth says it spilled into the stands where Raiders fans were watching practice. And they weren't finished; there were actually two fights at practice today. This one was between the Raiders offense and the Dallas defense, but after everyone settled down, the Raiders defense and Dallas offense got in on the act.

Oscar-Winning Actor Robin Williams Dead At 63

Robin Williams, the manic comic genius who morphed from TV's Mork from Ork to Oscar-winning glory, is dead of an apparent suicide. He was 63. Emergency personnel were called to Williams's home in Tiburon, California, at 11:55 a.m. local time, per the Marin County Sheriff's Office. Williams was found unconscious and pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities are investigating the death, and an autopsy is forthcoming, but initial evidence points to "a suicide due to asphyxia," according to Marin Sheriff's Lt. Keith Boyle. Williams was best known for his starring roles in classic comedies like "Mrs. Doubtfire," "Good Morning, Vietnam" and "Jumanji," but also in acclaimed dramas such as "Dead Poets Society." He won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Dr. Sean Maguire in "Good Will Hunting." He later explained that drinking had gradually become a problem again after 20 years of sobriety. "You're standing at a precipice and you look down, there's a voice and it's a little quiet voice that goes, 'Jump,'" the "Mrs. Doubtfire" star told ABC News in October of that year. "The same voice that goes, 'Just one.' … And the idea of just one for someone who has no tolerance for it, that's not the possibility."Born in Chicago in 1951, Williams was accepted into John Houseman’s prestigious acting program at Juilliard along with Christopher Reeve, who became a lifelong friend."After working back-to-back projects, Robin is simply taking the opportunity to fine-tune and focus on his continued commitment, of which he remains extremely proud," the actor's publicist said at the time. Williams reportedly spent a few weeks at Hazelden Addiction Treatment Center in Minnesota.Actor Steve Martin said on Twitter: "I could not be more stunned by the loss of Robin Williams, mensch, great talent, acting partner, genuine soul." Actor John Cryer said on Twitter: "We will try to carry on, but it won't be any fun without you." Musician John Mayer said on Twitter: "The first thing I ever wanted to be when I grew up was Robin Williams' inhabiting of Popeye." Actor Neil Patrick Harris said on Twitter: "I am stunned and just reeling from the news of Robin Williams' death. He brought so much joy and heart to millions ... Just, wow."Comedian Jimmy Kimmel said on Twitter: "Robin was as sweet a man as he was funny. If you're sad, please tell someone."

Rory McIlroy wins the PGA Championship 2014 Career 4th Major Title

On Sunday at the PGA Championship, there were plenty of moments when you thought Rory McIlroy wouldn't win his fourth major championship at the age of 25 and second in a row. Going in with a one-shot lead, the early fireworks had nothing to do with Rory McIlroy and everything to do with the guys chasing him. Ernie Els was making a run out of nowhere. Henrik Stenson was showing why he might be one of the toughest golfers in the world right now. Rickie Fowler continued to do what he does at major championships this season, and Phil Mickelson brought the drama that only Phil Mickelson can bring to a final round of a major. It was epic. It was historic. It was everything you want from a major. "It's been just incredible," McIlroy told CBS Sports afterwards. "I didn't think in my wildest dreams I'd have a summer like this."There was a wild finish in the dark as McIlroy and playing partner Bernd Wiesberger finished as a foursome (basically) with the pairing ahead of them, Phil Mickelson and Rickie Fowler.McIlroy took the lead on the 16th hole when Mickelson made bogey then went two up on No. 17 with a 10-foot birdie.Heading into Sunday atop the leader board by just one shot, McIlroy spent the day jockeying with Rickie Fowler, Phil Mickelson and Henrik Stenson for the outright lead. As darkness fell on Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Ky., McIlroy came out on top by one stroke and finished at 16-under.McIlroy took care of that by shooting 3-under 68, beating Phil Mickelson by one stroke. McIlroy rallied from a three-shot deficit at the turn, setting up an eagle at the 10th with a brilliant second shot. He built a two-stroke lead with a 10-foot birdie putt at the 17th. McIlroy finished at 16-under 268. Rickie Fowler and Henrik Stenson tied for third, two shots behind.

Tony Stewart hits and KILLS driver Kevin Ward Jr.Canandaigua Motorsports Park

NASCAR driver Tony Stewart ran over a competitor, 20-year-old Kevin Ward Jr., during a confrontation at a sprint car race on Saturday night at Canandaigua Motorsports Park in New York. Ward was killed. In the video above you can see Ward apparently confronting Stewart on foot after Ward's car is run into the wall. He is struck, dragged, then thrown a number of feet. According to Ontario County Sheriff Philip C. Povero, Ward was dead on arrival at the hospital.Tyler Graves, a sprint-car racer and friend of Ward's, told Sporting News in a phone interview that he was sitting in the Turn 1 grandstands and saw everything that happened. The accident came just four days after Stewart marked the one-year anniversary of an accident in a sprint car race in Iowa, where he suffered a compound fracture to his right leg. The injury cost him the second half of the NASCAR season. The track, about 30 miles southeast of Rochester, canceled the remainder of the race within five minutes and later posted a message on its Facebook page encouraging fans to "pray for the entire racing community of fans, drivers, and families."When the initial reports came out, it was just a myriad of people on twitter that claimed to be in attendance. However, more and more details were revealed, including some very graphic footage of the incident, which was too graphic to show on here at this time, out of respect for the Ward family at this difficult time. The incident was prompted by Stewart pushing Ward’s car into a wall coming around a turn, effectively knocking him out of the race. The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that Kevin was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital, which was 45 minutes after the accident happened. “Mr. Stewart has cooperated with the investigation, which is ongoing,” the release stated. “He is very upset and confirmed his continuing cooperation.” An eyewitness detailed the tragic crash after it happened and told of a horrible scene that he saw. Video also surfaced from the accident.

Dan Jennings Hit In Head By Screaming Line Drive vs. Pirates

Pirates shortstop Jordy Mercer hit a line drive right back at Marlins pitcher Dan Jennings and hit him square in the head. He immediately went down to the ground and then scrambled around on the mound before getting up, freezing, staring blankly into space, and then staggering around before teammates and trainers got to him. Jennings, as you can see, briefly rose to his feet immediately after being hit, but he soon stumbled to his knees. He never lost consciousness and was able to wave to fans as he was being carted off the field. The Marlins have yet to release an update on Jennings, who will surely head for a battery of tests. It's unclear if one of the new padded hats would have helped in this situation. Marlins trainer Sean Cunningham and manager Mike Redmond also rushed out there as Jennings dropped to a knee, clearly dazed. The stadium turned silent as fans and players from both dugouts displayed concern. After a few minutes, Jennings was assisted to a cart. He sat next to Cunningham and exited to cheers from the crowd. Jennings raised his right hand as if to inform the crowd that he was fine. Redmond said he didn't have a report on Jennings' condition after the Marlins lost to Pittsburgh 7-2. Jennings stood up to get in the cart. He put a hand up to acknowledge the crowd as he was driven away.

Pep Guardiola Refuses to shake Caleb Porter Hand

The MLS All-Star Game ended and, as is normal, All-Star coach Caleb Porter went over to the other bench to shake the other coach's hand. Only Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola was not having any of it.Guardiola was apparently upset about a couple hard tackles earlier in the match, especially one by Osvaldo Alonso. At the final whistle Guardiola wagged his finger to say "no" to Porter then refused the offer of a handshake, also the head coach of the Portland Timbers, because he was unhappy at some of the tackling by the MLS players. Porter followed the Spaniard to the half-way line but ignored him. Guardiola's staff also failed to shake Porter's hand. Taylor Twellman also mentioned there could have been a gentleman's agreement to go easy that Guardiola felt was ignored. He was particularly angered by Alonso's hard challenge on Xherdan Shaqiri. So, when the time came, he refused to shake hands with anyone from MLS and tried to keep his players and staff from doing the same. It all culminated with Caleb Porter following him around like a sad puppy dog with his arm outstretched.

Giant Crocodile Attacks Shark in Australia

Tourists in northern Australia have been left stunned by two fierce animals going head-to-head -- a massive saltwater crocodile wrestling with a bull shark in its jaws. Andrew Paice was on an hour-long wildlife cruise on the Adelaide River with his partner and seven-year-old daughter on Tuesday when they spotted something unusual on the riverbank. The incident occurred during a ride along the Adelaide River near the Kakadu National Park. The group had been watching crocodiles jump for a piece of buffalo meat on a stick. A reptile nicknamed "Brutus" was the most impressive. He is estimated to be 80-years-old and 18 feet long. As the boat returned to the jetty, he was spotted clasping the shark. Morgan Bowman, the operator of the cruise, said they occasionally see sharks in the river. "That's the first time I've ever seen one of our crocs catch a shark. It was amazing. It just shows for an old croc, Brutus is pretty quick," he said. He added that passengers had reported seeing a four-foot shark in the river over recent days. Brutus is well known among Adelaide residents. In 2011, he made headlines after bursting out of the water right beside a river cruise. Lured by a dangling piece of kangaroo meat, the two-tonne monster jumped out of the water, giving onlookers quite a shock. Speaking about Brutus' infamy, Bowman said: "We've got all these other crocs, nothing ever seems to happen to them. He's definitely got a bit of a reputation.

Commuters Push Train To Free Trapped Passenger In Perth (Super Human Strenght)

A passenger on a commuter railroad near Perth, Australia, was rescued by his fellow passengers after he slipped and got his leg caught in the gap between the train door and the platform -- and the entire scene was caught on video. "He stood in the doorway and as he was sort of taking up his position there, one leg slipped outside the door, slipped outside the gap and he was stuck," Transperth spokesman David Hynes told ABC Australia.Passengers were initially told to move to the opposite side of the train in the hope their weight would shift it away from his leg, a passenger who gave his name as Nic told The West Australian newspaper. But when that failed, staff told commuters to get off the train and about 50 of them lined up in a row along the platform to tilt the carriage away from the man so he could be lifted out. "It is the first time we've seen something like this happen," Transperth spokeswoman Claire Krol told AFP.One passenger said the man appeared to be in shock but not in pain, and was lifted to safety by two other passengers once the gap widened. Paramedics treated the man but he was not badly injured and caught a later train. The witness said the mishap made him rethink the warning “mind the gap”. “It’s not something you sort of think about or really take seriously,” he said. “I always thought it was a bit of a joke but now, yeah, you kind of do.”

Dez Bryant And J.J. Wilcox Fight During Scrimmage

The Dallas Cowboys held their annual Blue & White Scrimmage in Oxnard, CA on Sunday afternoon. And as the public scrimmage gave fans their first glimpse of the 2014 version of the Cowboys, they also got some extra entertainment to go along with it. During the full contact portion of the practice, wide receiver Dez Bryant caught a pass on a deep slant pattern. Suddenly, second year safety J.J. Wilcox violently hit Bryant, forcing the wideout to the ground. A skirmish between the two players then occurred with Dez headbutting and then pushing Wilcox, who retaliated with several swings at Bryant’s helmet.Bryant knows this defense better show some bite for the Cowboys to have a prayer of doing playoff damage. That’s part of the reason Bryant has been barking at the defense so much during camp, consistently talking trash after he makes big plays, such as his 80-yard score on a slant or short touchdown catch on a back-shoulder fade Sunday. Bryant wants to bring the best out of a defense that ranked as the league’s worst last season. He’s trying to provoke the type of passion Wilcox displayed. If it causes Bryant a bit of pain -- and the big hit hurt worse than the right hook, thanks to his helmet -- so be it. “It’s just a chip on our shoulder,” said Wilcox, who has the potential to be an intimidating presence in the secondary. “We’ve been 32nd for the last year. It’s time to step up.” Wilcox’s initial shot at Bryant, when the safety’s helmet struck hard right between the 8s on the receiver’s jersey, broke one of the cardinal rules of Cowboys camp. The episode unfolded after Bryant repeatedly taunted the defense on occasions when the offense prevailed. Bryant later had his comeuppance when he went against Wilcox, who built a reputation in training camp last year for delivering big hits and flashing an aggressive style. “He’s a heck of a player,” defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli said. “And so is the guy who caught the ball.” Later, after both players cooled down, they were seen on the sideline hugging. All was well again in the Cowboys’ universe. “It’s never good to have players go to the ground – that’s not what we want,” head coach Jason Garrett said. “But it is good to have them compete, and those two guys are some of the best competitors we have on our team.”

McKayla Maroney Acrobatic First Pitch

It should come as no surprise that a U.S. Olympic gymnast would know how to spice up a ceremonial first pitch. Not that they've needed much spicing up recently. Over the past few months we've seen everything from RoboCop winding up to Jack White throwing a pitch to Santa Claus. And that was only in Detroit. There was also whatever 50 Cent attempted to do at Citi Field, not to mention Agnes Mckee, the 105-.year-old Padres fan. Maroney nearly did a full floor routine from the mound, cartwheeling her way toward home before tossing a short pitch to the plate. Turned out Maroney had decided to liven up the national pastime's age-old tradition (and reduce that long distance between the mound and the catcher) by adding a gold-medal winning tumbling pass prior to her throw.

Paul George Suffers Serious Leg Injury

Paul George has suffered a serious leg injury during the fourth quarter of the USA Basketball Showcase on Friday night. George was chasing down James Harden a fast break when he ran into the stanton underneath the basket. His leg bent sideways, a la Shaun Livingston. Teammates nearby immediately reacted with Harden doubling over as George recoiled on the baseline. Medics, U.S. coach Mike Krzyzewski and members of George's family who were at the game rushed to his side. His right leg was put in an air cast and he was taken to a local hospital after being treated for about 15 minutes on the court. After he left in an ambulance, the rest of the game -- which pitted players in camp for the U.S. as it looks to trim its roster ahead of the FIBA Basketball World Cup in Spain that begins Aug. 30 -- was canceled. Head coach Mike Krzyzewski then went to center court and said that the rest of the game would not be played in respect for Paul George and George’s family. George was considered by some a lock for the team, which is working on whittling the group down from 20 players to 12 for the upcoming FIBA World Cup. However, this injury will likely keep him off the team because it looks pretty serious. Training for the World Cup goes through August 22, including several exhibition games. The World Cup then starts on August 30.

Face Balls with Julia Roberts The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon

Julia Roberts will be one of the guests tonight on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on NBC and will play Face Balls with him. Other guests will be Andy Cohen from Watch What Happens Live and actor Ron Funches from the comedy TV series Undateable. Julia Roberts is a mega-star, continuing the week with another remarkable A-list celebrity. Jimmy Fallon sent out someone to ask people on the street if they had seen the trailer for 50 Shapes of Grape yet — a totally fictional title — people acted as if he was saying it correctly, 50 Shades of Grey, making for some pretty funny remarks from some of the people. Nobody heard, or pointed out, at least, that the title of the movie was deliberately being butchered. A stunning Roberts, dressed in tiny black shorts showing off her long, slender legs, was visibly nervous of what was to come as host Fallon explained the game: They'd each throw see-through inflatable balls into each other's faces, and then watch the results back on a slow motion camera. "Oh my gosh, you don't have to throw it that hard!" yelled Fallon, laughing. The pair then sat down to watch the moment in slow-mo. "You flattened my face," he continued. "You crumpled my nose!" When the tosses were rerun in hi-def, super slow-motion, viewers were treated to images of Roberts' and Fallon's faces wobbling and being smooshed from side to side, to hilarious freeze-framed results. This is like the comedy version of Fifty Shades of Gray,” said America’s Sweetheart. This is so hilarious. I cannot stop LOLing.Jimmy said that Julia was a champ for doing it. I agree! I love her.Julia stars in The Normal Heart on HBO.
