Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather meet at Heat game

Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquaio, who have continued to posture back and forth in recent weeks/months/years but still not yet settled on any sort of fight date, were sitting courtside opposite from each other at tonight’s Heat-Bucks game. The boxers were seated almost directly opposite of each other in courtside seats during the game. At halftime, Mayweather walked across the court to Pacquiao and engaged in a conversation. There were theatrics, of course, but no trash talking.Mayweather did not respond to a question asked by an AP reporter. "Not now," one of his security guards said, as Mayweather fiddled with his phone. A bout between the two would almost certainly be the richest ever in boxing, potentially grossing as much as $250 million. Mayweather's take alone could exceed $100 million. Mayweather said last month that he's ready to make the fight happen May 2. Asked Tuesday if that date can finally be the one, Pacquiao — who has said it's time to give boxing fans what they want — nodded and said "yes."The two actually spoke at halftime of the game, with Mayweather walking over to Pac-Man and initiating the conversation. They even shook hands and Manny gave Floyd a little bro hug afterwards.Pacquiao later spoke with the media and said it was the first time he had ever talked with Mayweather. He got Floyd’s cell phone number too. This meeting was huge for obvious reasons. There have been talks for years about the two fighting, though nothing has ever materialized. Pacquiao even said he had accepted contract terms from Floyd and recently set a deadline for Mayweather to accept the fight. My guess is that if the two fight, it won’t be until Floyd is out of his contract with Showtime.

WWE 30 Man Battle Royal 2015 Roman Reigns wins Royal Rumble Match 2015

At Sunday night's WWE Royal Rumble event, Roman Reigns won the 30-Man Royal Rumble Match, last eliminating Big Show and Kane at the same time. By virtue of his victory, Reigns will face Brock Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in the main event of WrestleMania 31.The first two wrestlers to enter the ring was Miz and R-Truth. But the final six to remain in the ring is Bray Wyatt, Rusev, Roman Reigns, Kane, Dean Ambrose and Big Show. The final four left in the match were Reigns, Big Show, Kane and Rusev. Reigns eliminated Kane and Big Show, only to have the return get back into the ring anyway and attack Reigns. Then The Rock made his shocking return to WWE to make the save for Reigns and take out Show and Kane. After Reigns and The Rock dispatched Kane and Big Show, Rusev, who had been outside the ring but not eliminated, tried to pull a fast one and eliminate Reigns, but the former Shield powerhouse was too smart for that, delivering an earth-shattering Spear to Rusev before easily tossing him out of the ring to win the 2015 Royal Rumble Match and move on to the Main Event of Wrestlemania XXXI for a WWE title match.Curiously, the fans in the audience were not as impressed by Reigns’ performance, booing the former Shield member upon his victory. Then again, pretty much anyone who wasn’t either Ryback, Dolph Ziggler or of course Daniel Bryan probably would have been the recipient of a frustrated Philadelphia crowd.Roman Reigns’ chances of winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania XXXI.

UFC Fight Night 59 Donald Cerrone def. Benson Henderson

UFC Fight Night 59’s co-main event saw Donald Cerrone (27-6 MMA, 14-3 UFC) finally defeat Benson Henderson (21-5 MMA, 9-3 UFC) in the third meeting between the top lightweights. After suffering losses to Henderson in 2009 and 2010, Cerrone entered the third bout with “Smooth” as an injury replacement just 15 days after fighting at UFC 182. While it wasn’t his most convincing performance, “Cowboy” walked away with a unanimous decision victory.Maybe it was fitting that Cerrone, and not Henderson, got the somewhat surprising nod from the judges this time, since this was a fight with no shortage of role reversals. While Henderson is usually the one looking for takedowns and his opponents the ones to fend them off, this time it was Cerrone who accounted for the wrestling in the fight, taking Henderson down twice. In another twist, it was Henderson who did the majority of his work with kicks, included some unorthodox attacks to Cerrone’s thighs, as well as some hard shots to the body. All of that added up to a perplexing offense that Cerrone struggled to figure out. When he charged in at Henderson, he often found himself swinging at air. When he hung back and got caught reacting to feints, he ended up on the receiving end of some unpredictable striking.Henderson staying busy with front-leg side kicks, but they're not landing with much. Cerrone responds with a low kick and they clinch. Henderson throws a lead elbow and misses, but makes up for it with a body shot and leg kick. Henderson staying busy with short kicks to Cerrone's lead legs, but isn't landing much else. However, he does score a body shot. Hard double thigh leg kick from Henderson, although he whiffs on a check hook. Solid one-two from Cerrone from a clinch break. Cerrone catches a kick and tries to kick Henderson's post leg out, but he stays on his feet. Hard knee to the body now for Henderson. Good right hook to the body scores for Henderson. He is taken down again by Cerrone, but stands up immediately. Cerrone catches Henderson again charging in with double underhooks, but the former champ wiggles free. The two trade smaller leg kicks. Henderson lands with another flying knee to the body, plus a jab as they separate. The two trade body kicks, but neither of them land.

LeBron James Coach Pushes David Blatt to the sideline against Phoenix Suns

Cleveland Cavaliers head coach David Blatt knows how important LeBron James is to the team both in terms of morale and on-court ability. When the King picked up a highly questionable offensive foul while tied up with Marcus Morris during a contest with the host Phoenix Suns Tuesday night, Blatt got heated in the ref's face. In the Cleveland Cavaliers' first half against the Suns Tuesday, David Blatt was consulting with an official about a call. LeBron James wanted to go ahead and get the play started, and didnt' want his coach to pick up a tech. And so LeBron, being the helpful guy he is, escorted Blatt to the sideline, some might say pushing him to the sideline so the Suns could inbound the ball. After the game, Blatt and James downplayed the exchange, with Blatt explaining that James was trying to prevent him from receiving a technical foul. But some saw it differently while watching the game ... as evidence that James has little regard for Blatt and isn't listening to him. Others targeted James for scorn, saying he overstepped his bounds. It likely is much ado about nothing. NBA writer Matt Moore of CBSSports.com recalls that James caused an uproar during his first season with the Miami Heat when he bumped into coach Erik Spoelstra. That worked out OK: They went to four straight NBA Finals, won two titles and Spoelstra is still coaching the Heat.
