Luke Rockholdlived up to his prediction that he was going to dominate and finish Lyoto Machida in the UFC on FOX 15 headline when he submitted “The Dragon” in the second round of the main event at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.
Machida kept Rockhold on his toes with big punches in the opening moments of the fight, but after the action spilled to the mat, the latter started to take over. Rockhold battered Machida with several punches and a big elbow, and as the opening round concluded, the latter was clearly hurt.
Machida tries to counter Rockhold's low kick with a straight left but can't find the mark. Rockhold off-balances Machida with a clever trip and swarms him, looking to take the back. And he does a moment later, following with a textbook rear-naked choke.
