USA's Kotsenburg Wins First Gold In Olympic

He came to these Olympics determined to stay his chilled-out, snowboarding self at the pressure-packed Winter Games and, in his own words, continue to “march to his own beat.” With that attitude and special flair, 20-year-old Sage Kotsenburg of Park City, Utah, marched off with the first gold medal of the 2014 Sochi Olympics in men’s slopestyle on Saturday at Rosa Khutor Extreme Park. This marked the Olympic debut of one of the livelier extreme sports and Kotsenburg won it with an eye-popping first run in the final, earning 93.50 points. Taking the silver was Staale Sandbech of Norway and Mark McMorris of Canada grabbed the bronze medal. As Kotsenburg, who earned his spot in the finals by placing second in the semifinals earlier Saturday, prepared for his run, he called his older brother, Blaze, who was at home in Park City, and U.S. coach Bill Enos to share a crazy idea. He wanted to throw a trick called "Back 16 Japan" on his first run in the Olympic finals, never mind that he hadn't tried the move in practice or prior competition. No one talked him out of it.But after expectations of at the very least two Canadians medaling, only one finished on the podium. Mark McMorris earned the bronze medal behind silver medalist Staale Sandbech of Norway and Sage Kotsenburg of the U.S.

Chris Kaman Takes A Nap During Cavs Game Video

The Lakers only had eight players suit up against the Cavs. Like a man placed in an empty row in coach, Chris Kaman luxuriated in the extra space. With Steve Nash, Pau Gasol, Jodie Meeks and Jordan Hill all sidelined for Wednesday’s matchup with the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Lakers dressed only eight players. That number only dwindled as the night went on, though, when Nick Young left the game with a twisted left knee and did not return. So, Chris Kaman decided he'd turn game time into naptime. 1000 percent chance Kaman had this planned out from the start of the game and fouled out on purpose just so he could nap. Then again, the first three quarters of this game would have put anyone to sleep.

Video Joe Namath Messes Up Coin Toss at Super Bowl

Joe Namath, the hero of the New York Jets’ Super Bowl victory in 1969, returned to the national stage on Sunday to conduct the pre-game coin toss for this year’s Super Bowl festivities. But there was just one problem: He (and possibly the ref, too) messed it up.He obviously was drunk because he was slurring and making no sense. He later apologized and said he was drinking since three that day and was embarrassed. This Super Bowl he was chosen to toss the coin to decide who received the ball first. I don’t know why they chose him after his last appearance, but here goes. Namath was then involved in an awkward coin toss. After being introduced and handed the coin, Namath got a little ahead of referee Terry McAulay. Namath flipped the coin before the Seahawks could make their call. McAulay reacted quickly and grabbed the coin before it could drop.
