Anthony Johnson Vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira is the co-main event of UFC on Fox 12 for this Saturday night. Here is the breakdown by stats of this fight:
Anthony Johnson (14-4) has 11 knockouts, and 6 decision victories in his MMA career. He is on a seven fight winning streak, In his last three fights he has beaten Andrei Arlovski via Unanimous decision back in March of 2013, then Mike Kyle via 1st Rd KO in January of this year. Finally, in his last fight, he beat Phil Davis via Unanimous decision at UFC 172. This is a very quick turn around for Johnson, but he has said in the past that he wants to fight frequently and he is certainly getting that in this fight. In a violent display of power, Johnson rocked the Brazilian PRIDE veteran early with his right hand and followed up with several more that forced the referee to intervene at the 0:44 mark of the first round.Blood poured from Nogueira’s head as he dropped to the canvas after taking several uppercuts that snapped his neck against the cage. The Brazilian hadn’t fought in 17 months since upsetting former light heavyweight champ Rashad Evans.Herb Dean is the referee in charge. Nogueira opens southpaw while Johnson is orthodox. Right away Johnson cracks Nogueira with a hard right hand and it backs him up. Nogueira's back is against the fence and Johnson is absolutely going to work on him. Uppercuts, hooks and everything else scores and Nogueira slumps to the mat and referee Dean stops the bout. And it didn't take long, just 44 seconds.
The two met in the center of the cage and started exchanging punches. Johnson connected clean with a hard shot, then another, then another. Nogueira ended up backed up against the fence and "Rumble" teed off from there, blasting away with hard uppercuts that downed the Brazilian. Finally, referee Herb Dean stepped in and stopped it.
