Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw hit in face with line drive

Los Angeles Dodgers’ ace Clayton Kershaw took a broken-bat line drive to the left side of his face in the bottom of the 3rd inning against Oakland on Friday. In the bottom of the third inning of Friday's spring training game against the Oakland Athletics, a line drive off the bat of Oakland's Andy Parrino struck Kershaw in the side of the face. The ball, which came off a broken bat hit in the bottom of the third by Oakland infielder Andy Parrino, hit Kershaw on the left of his jaw, according to MLB.com. Kershaw remained in the game for another two innings, but said he anticipated that he would feel the hit on the next day. Luckily for Kershaw, the ball came off a broken bat and just sort of fluttered its way into his face. After getting checked out by his manager and medical staff, Kershaw stayed in the game.
