Bryce Harper and Matt Williams Ejected Against Yankees
Bryce Harper took a called strike in the third inning of tonight’s Nationals-Yankees game in Washington. The call — which was the first pitch of the at bat — irked Harper enough for him to step out of the box, while home plate umpire Marvin Hudson traded words with the Nationals’ dugout. The argument appeared to center around a called first strike, and Harper’s deliberate movement into and out of the batter’s box thereafter. Hudson, however, told a pool reporter that it had “nothing to do with the box.”It is the second time in eight days that Harper and Williams were both ejected from a game. They were ejected from last Wednesday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks for arguing a checked swing.
