Clemson's Isaiah Battle Ejected From Clemson-NC State For Uppercut Punch

Clemson offensive tackle Isaiah Battle was ejected late in the Tigers' win over the Wolfpack Thursday night after throwing a vicious uppercut at NC State defensive back Jarvis Byrd. Battle swung a strong shot right under the facemask of Byrd, who immediately fell to the ground. When you throw a punch like that, it is hard to disguise, and Battle was immediately ejected. Not only was Battle sent to the locker room early, but he will likely face a suspension from the ACC after they review the incident.Instead, he was removed from the game by head coach Dabo Swinney and ultimately ejected by officials. There’s no doubt the ACC will have something to say about Battle’s actions that could lead to further punishment. The punch knocked Byrd onto his back and led to a skirmish. Battle was immediately pulled from the game by Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney and ejected for throwing a punch soon after. There's no word of additional penalties for the apparent sucker punch at this point.
