Penguins' Pascal Dupuis Carted Off Ice After Hit In Neck By Puck

Scary scene during the Pittsburgh Penguins' game vs. the Dallas Stars on Thursday night, as forward Pascal Dupuis took a slap shot to the neck or back and was stretchered off the ice in the second period. After taking a cross-check to the back from Stars defenseman Alex Goligoski, Dupuis fell to the ice and was then almost immediately struck by a shot off the stick of Penguins defenseman Kris Letang. Whether it was due to the cross-check (which was not penalized), the shot, or a combination of the two, he remained on the ice for several minutes while being tended to by team doctors and trainers. He gave a thumbs up to the crowd as he was being removed from the game.Dupuis was in such a position due to a cross-check delivered to his back by Alex Goligoski. Dupuis, who is in his eighth year playing for Pittsburgh, did deliver a thumb's-up as he was taken off the ice at Consol Energy Center.
