Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Kevin Durant was officially named the 2013-14 NBA Most Valuable Player on Tuesday. Judging by his acceptance speech, the award really means a lot to him.
Although this season marked the fourth time in his career that he led the league in scoring, it was the first time in his career that he won the MVP award. There were several emotional moments that brought Durant to tears. He was as gracious as possible, while thanking teammates individually as well as his family members who were in attendance.Durant fought back tears as he thanked each of his teammates individually, and he had a special message for his mother, Wanda Pratt. Pratt got a standing ovation from the crowd after her son said that she was “the real MVP.”
