FIFA World Cup 2014 Jennifer Lopez, Pitbull Perform at Opening Ceremony

Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull make up for a great show and sing the official soundtrack of the FIFA World Cup, "We are One" together. Everybody's dancing! It's time for football and the biggest show on earth! As it all ends, we get ready for the first match between Brazil and Croatia. The three artists seemed hesitant, standing in a circle and waving their arms throughout the short performance. The song was generally met with a tepid response from the crowd, although a roar could be heard when Lopez, in a bust-revealing beaded leotard, sang her solo and showed off some samba steps. Pitbull's usual outsize persona was muted as he stood in a Brazil shirt and tight cropped white pants; his vocals were drowned out by the Brazilian percussion troupe that provided live accompaniment to the track. Cheers from the crowd in Sao Paulo could be heard as the song ended. The 30-minute show was choreographed by Brazil's Paulo Barros and featured a variety of performers each dressed in random but colourful costumes. It began with children, dressed in the colours of the 32 nations, bouncing on trampolines as performers dressed as trees and flowers walked around the centre of the stadium. The colourful costumes were meant to represent the ‘nature phase’ of the show, which celebrated the rich diversity of Brazil. All of the celebrations centred around a gigantic globe situated in the middle of the Corinthians Arena and performers – each dressed in an array of colourful outfits – danced in front of the excited crowd. The globe displayed all of the flags of the countries taking part in the 2014 World Cup and resembled the Brazuca - the official ball of the competition. Superstar Jennifer Lopez, rapper Pitbull and Brazilian popstar Claudia Leitte headlined the show and bounced around the giant stage as they sang the official World Cup song 'We Are One (Ola Ola)'. Miss Lopez wore a sparkling green sequin dress for the performance, which delighted fans following earlier reports she might not attend.Accompanied by a Brazilian percussion troupe, J.Lo and Pitbull rose up from the ground onto the flower-shaped platform and waved their hands from side to side during the lively set, which ended with cheers from the crowd. J.Lo later posted a video from backstage of her dancing in her busty green leotard. “Who said I wasn’t coming?” she said.
