Jennifer Lawrence Wins Best Supporting Actress Golden Globe Awards 2014


Jennifer Lawrence took home the first trophy of the evening as she won the award for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture at the 2014 Golden Globes! And to make the victory even sweet, she got a congratulatory smooch from her BF Nicholas Hoult! The American Hustle actress had some stiff competition, as she beat out Sally Hawkins, Lupita Nyong'o, Julia Roberts and June Squibb!Amy Adams was voted best actress in film comedy for her role as a con artist, while Jennifer Lawrence, who played her romantic rival, won for best supporting actress. The awards were handed out tonight during a live NBC telecast in Beverly Hills, California. The women singled out director and co-writer David O. Russell from the stage, thanking him for creating potent female roles. Lawrence, who played Rosalyn Rosenfeld in “American Hustle,” won the best-actress Oscar for “Silver Linings Playbook” last year, also directed by Russell.The other nominees Sunday night were Sally Hawkins, 'Blue Jasmine'; Lupita Nyong'o, '12 Years a Slave'; Julia Roberts, 'August: Osage County'; and June Squibb, 'Nebraska.' The 71st annual Golden Globes are airing live from the Beverly Hilton Hotel, with hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.
